5 Reasons Snoring Is Driving Couples Into Separate Bedrooms
It doesn’t always start with an argument. Sometimes it’s a pillow, a walk down the hallway and another night spent sleeping alone. If “the guest room” has quietly become somebody’s room, this one’s for you.

Snoring bingo
Tap every square that’s happened at your house this month.
Nothing yet? Lucky you. Keep reading anyway.
Reason 1: It starts with a few rough nights
One of you sleeps right through it. The other one counts ceiling tiles.
Nobody plans to sleep apart. It starts small: a nudge at midnight, a “roll over, honey” at 2 a.m., one long look at the clock at 4.
The snorer usually has no idea. They wake up feeling fine and honestly can’t understand why their partner looks like they pulled an all-nighter. That’s the strange thing about snoring: the person making the noise hears it least.
The morning-after giveaway: one of you is cheerfully making eggs. The other is holding the coffee with both hands.
Reason 2: “Just for tonight” turns into every night
The guest room was supposed to be for guests.
The first time, it’s a rescue mission. Grab a pillow, tiptoe down the hall, finally get some sleep. It works, so you do it again.
A few months later, the guest room has her reading glasses, her phone charger and her favorite blanket. Nobody ever decided anything. The snoring quietly made the decision for you.
Some couples love having their own rooms, and that’s fine. But if you’re only down the hall because of the noise, it’s worth knowing the hallway isn’t the only option.
Reason 3: Bedtime turns into a negotiation
Earplugs. Fans. Who falls asleep first. Repeat.
Before anyone moves out, there’s usually a long season of workarounds. See if you recognize the house rules:
- The head start. The light sleeper goes to bed early and races to fall asleep first.
- The soundtrack. Fan on high, white noise on repeat, sometimes both.
- The gear. Earplugs on one nightstand, nasal strips on the other.
- The nudge. A gentle shove, a “roll over,” then a slightly less gentle shove.
Notice something? Every rule is about helping the listener cope. Not one of them does anything about the snoring.
If your bedtime routine has more steps than your morning routine, something’s got to give.
Reason 4: Blocking the noise isn’t a plan for two
Earplugs work for one of you. You both deserve a better routine.
Sooner or later, a lot of couples have the same honest talk: “This isn’t working for either of us.”
Blocking the sound puts all the work on the listener. The snorer keeps snoring, the light sleeper keeps adapting, and both of you are a little tired of it. A better routine deals with the snoring itself, with something simple enough that the snorer will actually use it every night. (The fix you skip doesn’t count.)
Worth saying out loud: loud snoring with pauses in breathing, gasping or heavy daytime sleepiness can be a sign of sleep apnea. That’s a conversation for a doctor, not a gadget.
Reason 5: There’s another way worth trying
Meet SleepLabs Pro: small, cordless and worn under the chin.
SleepLabs Pro is made for the snorer. It sits directly underneath the center of the chin (not on the throat), held in place by an adhesive contact patch, and it’s designed to help reduce snoring while you sleep.
It works through that contact patch with gentle pulses. You start on a low setting and adjust to what feels comfortable. Nothing goes in your mouth, nothing covers your face, and there’s no hose or humming machine on the nightstand. In the morning it goes back in its travel case, which is also its charger.
It isn’t magic, and it isn’t for everyone. That’s what the 90-night satisfaction trial is for.

Reviews
What couples are telling us
We’re finally sleeping in the same bed again
My husband’s snoring got so bad that I started sleeping in the guest room. We decided to give SleepLabs a try, and after about a week, our nights were noticeably quieter. It’s been such a nice change for both of us.
No more arguing about who gets the couch
My husband’s snoring used to be a nightly argument. Someone always ended up moving to the couch. After he started trying SleepLabs, we’ve had more peaceful nights together. I just wish we’d looked into it sooner.
My wife says she can finally get some rest
I didn’t realize how much my snoring bothered my wife until she started recording it. That was an eye-opener. We decided to try SleepLabs, and she’s been telling me our nights are noticeably calmer. I’m happy we gave it a chance.
FAQ
Before you ask
Where exactly does it go?
Directly underneath the center of your chin, not on your throat. An adhesive contact patch holds it in place, and the quick-start guide in the box shows exactly where it goes.
Do the contact patches need replacing?
Yes. Each contact patch is single-use, so plan on one patch per night you wear it. Starter patches come in the box; after that, refill packs are sold separately (a 20-patch pack is currently $65). If a patch irritates your skin, stop using it.
How do I charge it?
The travel case is the charger. Keep SleepLabs Pro in its case between nights.
What comes in the box?
The SleepLabs Pro device, starter contact patches, a travel charging case and a quick-start guide.
Is it for sleep apnea?
No. SleepLabs Pro is a wellness product designed to help reduce snoring. It isn’t intended to diagnose, treat or cure sleep apnea or any other medical condition. Snoring can be a sign of sleep apnea, so if you stop breathing in your sleep, wake up gasping or feel exhausted during the day, talk to your doctor. Never stop CPAP or another prescribed treatment because of a SleepLabs product. If you have a pacemaker or another implanted electronic device, ask your doctor before using it.
What if it isn’t right for us?
Use it for 90 nights in a row and, if you’re still not happy, you can request a full refund on the device. Returns before 90 nights are accepted minus a 30% restocking fee. You’ll need a return authorization first, you pay return shipping, original shipping isn’t refundable, and opened contact patches can’t be returned. Read the full refund policy.
Ready to try the same bed again?
$89. Starter patches and a travel charging case in the box. 90-night satisfaction trial, terms above.
